Tapas Revolution Reviews

Myself, a friend and our two boys went to Tapas Revolution in Bluewater. I chose this restaurant as always had lovely meals previous and they had emailed me with a free bottle of cava for my birthday.
No kids menus anymore, they have now stopped this and only 1 or 2 dishes that are not spicy that the children could eat. Think bread and meatballs.
Service not great at all.
Bill was over £100 (not including any drinks) and the kids were still hungry so had to feed them after. So basically £50 per adult.
The portions are ridiculously small. Not even 1 per person is enough. I know tapas is meant to be small but this was appalling.
Emails for the cava wouldnt work, had to go into another restaurant to see if connecting to their internet would work. Member of staff in Tapas Revolution said “try walking around” to get signal. I even sent the email to my friend to see if she could open it but she couldnt. It was an error with the actual voucher and nothing to do with the internet. The first lady said I cant give it to you without the voucher. The second lady agreed to give it to us (halfway during the meal) but said can we still keep trying to get the voucher.
The meal was not relaxing, the service was poor, had two hungry kids and the food was not even that great.
As if that wasnt enough, I did the feedback form online. Didnt get any form of response. I posted on Instagram that the portions are tiny, I could see quite a few others had also posted this. When I next checked, all the commemts had been removed (apart from the ones praising the restaurant of course) and I had been blocked.
Absolutely shocking. The public deserve the right to see both constructive and positive comments and then decide if they would still like to dine.
Would strongly reommemd checking menu before you go because the prices have also gone up.

I can’t believe you have removed from the menu the torenzo con mojo (slow cooked belly pork) and pulpo (octopus with potatoes) !!!! It’s impossible to be sooo crazy to remove such amazing food! Tapas was my favourite place to eat in London to be honest but after you removed these you lost me as your regular client!!! Shame on whoever changed the menu, excuse me but you must want to loose clients otherwise you would never have done this s*it change! ✌🏼

This was my first visit to this 'restaurant' and it will be the last. The menu is extremely limited and I struggled to find anything remotely acceptable to my tastes. I only stayed as I was with a party of friends for a pre-Christmas meet-up. What I ended up with was tasteless and forgettable. Friends who shared the £30 paella received a not-exactly-large pan of rice with a (very) few pieces of protein on the top. Overpriced and over-rated. No wonder it was empty.

We have tried this restaurant before and it was lovely but will not be returning.
A waitress noticed we had been given some of our food and told our waitress we didn't have a plate or knife and fork to which she just shrugged and carried o with other tables we didnt see her again at our table. I then had to ask another waiter for the cutlery and plates. By the time we started eating the food was freezing. We ate whay we could of the bread potatoes and mushrooms before the meatballs arrived. The 2nd meat dish didn't arrive. When it came to the bill I told the waiter we had a meal missing but he still bought the receipt which included the missing dish. I asked to see the manager who didn't come instead the waiter took off 5 pound. There was a service charge added to the bill which was not deserved. We spent 43 pound and walked away hungry Awful service. Another customer had oil spilt on her coat by the waiter she asked for a cloth and he walked past me giggling and making funny noises.

After spending £68.91 on tapas we felt let down due to the size of the portions at £18 for 3 portions.
Half the items weren’t on the menu to choose from.
They charge £6.50 for a larger.
Then they don’t inform you that they have put a service charge on the bill for £7.66. The service charge is 12.51% they are breaking the law by not informing you.

They clear your table while someone is still eating we can now understand why it’s so empty even though other places are full.

Would I use them again NEVER.

The food is exquisite - every time. Last time we went, I reckon the chef had changed as the menu was the same, but the dishes seemed just a SLIGHTLY bit different - and in a good way. I didn't think it could improve, but it did!
AND THE STAFF!! All fantastic. A couple of absolute stand-outs, but all fantastically friendly and efficient.
I recommend them to everyone and will go again myself at the drop of a hat.
Recommendations: We always go for the small plates (given the name of the place!). Love them all, but highlights are definitely the Pork Belly, Broccolini and the Aubergine Fingers.

Arroz Polio Con Chorizo £9.95 was mainly a plate of matted rice. Served with a smile though.
The four chicken pieces were each the size of a small finger nail. The two pieces of Chorizo were hiding underneath 8 pieces of rice. One pint of beer £6.50 !!!! Didn't have time to complain as had a train to catch

Meet & Greet was good...explaining the lunch time offer was good.....taking the order based on that info was good
The Bill was a nightmare...should have been 2 lunch specials =21.90 + 2 soft drinks on the lunch offer £4 + £4 bavas+ £6.25 Con Choc Dessert = £32.19
Bill nearly £39 spoke to manager who blamed a staff error on drinks & then charged us 12.5% service charge
It's a joke won't eat there again and the service charge is less than good & not given an option

This was the second time we have visited this restaurant at Bluewater. First time the food was great, just we had to sit next to the bins, where waitresses constantly emptied dirty plates into the bins. It was disgusting.
Yesterday we have ordered 2 paellas, this time sitting further from the bins hoping for good food. The rice was dry, with a couple of seafood bits on the top. It wasn't a paella; it was a leftover for a dog.

Was disappointing decided to have two small plates and one large plate of which the large plate cost £14.95 two small pieces of pork two green peppers complained it wasn’t large with a reply that they’ve told management that the menu is incorrect especially having left a little as hard and I’m edible felt a little ripped off

Have been to Tapas Revolution in Bath many times before, and expected the usual lovely food when we went again on June 24th but it has gone massively downhill. Whilst the service was very good the food was not. The Patatas Bravas had no sauce, just a bit of Alioli over them, so very dry. The Marinara Frutera was dry and bland and tasteless with poor quality fish, overcooked squid and bone dry prawns. The chorizo was dry and burnt and the Croquetas Jamon dry, overcooked and tasteless with hardly any ham in them. Hugely disappointed, especially as they used to be so good. Won’t be going back any time soon!

My restaurant of choice in Birmingham. Been several times this year. Friendly, allergy compassionate. Nothing too much trouble. Very polite staff. Sandra served us and was attentive, friendly and welcoming. Other staff said hello “ola” as we passed and also pleasantry’s on our exit. So nice to hear and see.

Visited Grand Central Birmingham restaurant today with 2 friends.
Was seated immediately by a very pleasant young lady and then left sitting for 20 minutes with nobody taking our order or even asking us if we wanted drinks.
We all walked out explaining to a lady wearing a red jacket who looked like a deer in headlights and not having a clue what she was doing who we presumed was the manager solely because of the red jacket.
When you’re asking for £18.95 for 3 tapas and £5.95 for a beer one expects at the very least good customer service,we received none.
1 star for the young lady meeting and greeting

Visited this restaurant in Birmingham Grand Central over bank holiday. We have been before and was looking forward to it. It was very busy but we asked for a table for 2 and the female waitress said they could fit us in.....great! On our way to the table the waitress was stopped by a female who I presume was the manager. This woman then proceeded to berate the waitress in front of us and the other customers saying they were already busy etc etc. to the point where we just turned around and left.
That is not the way to treat your staff especially in front of a busy restaurant. Poor show and poor customer service. Just lost a regular customer!

I have been a long standing customer of Tapas revolution and have always enjoyed visiting. However, the last three visits, since the new menu, have been very disappointing. The standard of food has noticeably gone downhill, in terms of quality of ingredients and taste. The staff continue to do their best but unless the food improves back to previous standards they have lost me as a customer.
